Most holiday games end in sweat, frustration or a family quarrel. Fine if that's what you're into. But most of the time you're not.

Then there's Kubb.

Kubb (you say “kupp”) is the ultimate relaxing game for vacation, garden or beach. No rush, no jumping, just throwing, laughing and winning or losing with style. Drink with it? Perfect.

What makes Kubb so chill?

You can play it on any surface: grass, sand, camping blanket or tiles – it doesn’t matter. Set up a field of 5 by 8 meters, divide the teams and you can get started. A quick game after dinner, or three hours of fanaticism on the beach? Kubb adapts to your pace.

Don't have an official Kubb set at home yet? Don't worry. You can make one yourself with bottles, water and a little creativity. Works surprisingly well for beginners.

But if you really want to play well, you will notice the difference with a sturdy wooden set in official competition sizes.

There is a wide range of Kubb sets: from dirt cheap to professional. The price often says something about the finish, materials and whether the set meets the official rules. Cheap is not necessarily bad, but it does play differently.
